Martine Van Den Bergh
Job Title: Digital Communications Executive
Business Unit: ILM
As the Digital Communications Executive at ILM, my key responsibilities include creating, co-ordinating and managing digital content and its publication through ILM’s digital channels, including website, email communications, and social media.
By working in conjunction with the PR, Marketing, Publishing and Events teams, I ensure all of ILM’s digital communications are synchronised, on brand, and follow best practice guidelines.
What are the key skills that someone needs in order to do a job like yours?
Good communication skills are vital to my role as it’s important to keep in close contact with other teams so I know of any upcoming events, new research reports or marketing campaigns. A good working knowledge of social media marketing, data management and CMS experience also helps with day-to-day tasks. Also, being able to multi-task, stay organised and work to deadlines is critical as is the ability and passion to stay abreast of developments in social media and digital communications.
What do you enjoy about your job at the City & Guilds Group?
It’s great being able to represent ILM and communicate to our customers directly through our digital platforms, whether email, LinkedIn or Twitter. The variety that my role encompasses means no two days are ever the same and every day brings new challenges. Due to the nature of the company, there are always new initiatives to get involved with, cross-company sports teams to join and social events to attend. Personal development, innovation and thinking outside the box is always encouraged and to be a part of such a dynamic and fearless team is refreshing and inspiring.
