Are you interested in becoming a Development Consultant for City & Guilds?

You can become a member of a vibrant team of Development Consultants with a range of responsibilities that may include:

  • Scoping qualification content – e.g. qualification and unit structures, rules of combinations, assessment designs
  • Writing unit content
  • Drafting assessments and sample assessment materials – e.g. multiple-choice question papers, knowledge tests, practical assessments, professional discussions, portfolios of evidence
  • Reviewing and amending assessments as part of reviewing panels or as a scrutineer
  • Reviewing the mapping of content against standards or other qualifications

We are recruiting for suitable, qualified individuals with the right background, to become Development Consultants for a range of qualifications and industries.

  • Development Consultants

      Development Consultants need to have experience in the following areas:

      • Up-to-date subject matter knowledge, industry-specific competence and practical experience
      • An understanding of learners and their needs
      • Experience in, or understanding of, teaching in the vocational sector.

      Previous experience or qualification and assessment design, or experience in the delivery and quality assurance of qualifications, is desirable.

      You will need to be willing to commit to both remote work and face-to-face online meetings during normal working hours for the development of our qualifications and assessments. For this reason, you must have good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

      City & Guilds will support you with training relevant to your role. You will need to be available to attend training prior to the start of the qualification or assessment development, where required.

      You will also need to have excellent attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
