No matter which business area you join at City & Guilds we strive to live our purpose of developing our people to progress into a job, on the job and onto the next job.
We recognise that careers are very varied and that as individuals we each have different motivators and aspirations. Whether as an apprentice in our IT team, a customer service agent or a manager leading a team of learning designers, career development at City & Guilds is all about learning and improving so that you can do your job better and progress.
Our philosophy is to take a partnership approach to career development so that both the organisation and the employee own various aspects. We expect you to build your own self-awareness, ask for feedback and set career and development goals. To help you and to evidence that we take your career development seriously it is now included as part of your regular quarterly review with your manager.
Each of our lives and career follows its own unique journey. This journey often takes people across a variety of sectors and organisations. At City & Guilds we have many employees whose personal career journeys have involved moving across business teams and functions around the businesses.
We also offer more formal career pathways, where you can progress through your particular specialisms / functions.
